Healthier Lives & Employee Wellbeing

Since 2024, a dedicated task force of 23 leading companies has focused on the holistic health of the regional workforce. By establishing a roadmap prioritizing mental, physical, and financial health, the group shares best practices to foster supportive work environments.

  • Self-Assessment & strategy

Utilising the seven principles for employee wellbeing developed by the COA and McKinsey Health Institute, the group uses a custom methodology to identify development opportunities based on real data and continue strengthening the knowledge of the participants of the working group.

  • Working group sessions

Ran periodically, the sessions are a place for companies to share learnings, initiatives and challenges. Key experts also join the sessions aiming to strengthen the knowledge of all participants.

  • "Se Siente Bien" (It Feels Good)

This impact strategy has reached over 4,000 employees in 11 countries, engaging staff and their families in collaborative wellbeing activities. Companies participating in this initiative lead webinars on health and wellbeing topics to be shared among all companies.

Plastic Waste

The Plastic Waste working group unites regional leaders to foster transitions toward a circular economy.

Plastic Waste

Dedicated Working Group

We aim to support the use of the Golden Design Rules, and other topics specially related to Extended Producer Responsibility  through the development of knowledge sharing sessions where companies can present their outcomes, challenges and discuss relevant topics on circular economy. The group has also developed visits aimed to learn more about innovation that can improve their role.

Supporting Golden Design Rule (GDR) adoption

With successful pilots, such as those with Andi (Vision Circular), Reciclamania, (Walmart Mèxico y Centro Amèrica),  and Grupo Alen (Reciclar para Ganar), which aims to establish strategic collection routes focused on recovering PP and HDPE, incentivising household collection by increasing the value of materials through attractive rewards.

Specialised training

We offer two courses to equip professionals with sustainable packaging skills. The content facilitates the technical understanding of Circular Economy principles, plastic material types, and a detailed study of the 9 Golden Design Rules to support autonomous implementation within each organization.

    • Express Course: A 30-minute high-level session for corporate leaders. Access here.

Food Waste

Food Waste

The Consumer Goods Forum is driving efforts to reduce food loss and waste throughout the supply chain in Latin America. We tackle this challenge through several activities.

National Initiatives

Partnering with organizations like the UN FAO, BID, the Argentinian Ministry of Agriculture, and GS1 Argentina to strengthen food waste baselines and establish collaborative activities.

Local Initiatives

Collaborating with the Mayor’s Office of Medellin on the Sustainable Food and Zero Waste Initiative, alongside key actors like WWF, Eat Cloud, and Folu, to reduce food waste and reduce hunger in the city.

By combining national and local approaches, we aim to make significant strides in decreasing food waste and creating a more sustainable food system.

Data Driven Value Chain

Data Driven Value Chain

This initiative seeks to facilitate the development of data-based technical and operational capabilities for organizations in Latin America to autonomously address challenges in AI, sustainability, and logistics, while adapting benchmark practices to their local operational realities.

Decarbonisation of transport

In partnership with LOGYCA, this project identifies logistical efficiencies through technical data analysis to facilitate emission reductions in freight transport across Latin America and the Caribbean. By addressing shared technical frictions and aligning on benchmark practices, the initiative utilizes a data-driven monitoring framework and multi-stakeholder dialogue to support a sustainable, efficient, and transparent operational transition.

2D Migration

This project, developed in partnership with GS1 BR and GS1 Col, aims to facilitate technical dialogue between suppliers and retailers in Latin America by promoting the exchange of precise and timely information under global standards. Through the transition toward two-dimensional (2D) codes, the initiative seeks to modernize product visibility throughout the value chain on a voluntary basis.

Sprinboards

Springboards are unique, biannual events hosted by The Consumer Goods Forum and LOGYCA to showcase the technologies revolutionizing the industry. Since 2019, these gatherings—held in Colombia and across Latin America—have brought together leaders to explore innovation in logistics, AI, and automation. Beyond knowledge exchange on technical frameworks and data analytics, participants gain firsthand experience through exclusive visits to state-of-the-art distribution centers and technology hubs.

Foro Latino

The Foro Latino is an annual event that brings together leaders from across the retail industry in Latin America that focuses on leaders and decision-makers from Latin American supermarkets. Held in a different location each year, attendees get firsthand exposure to the latest advancements and trends in retail and logistics. The event also features discussion panels with experts, fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing among participating companies. The Latin America Forum provides a valuable opportunity for industry leaders to connect, collaborate, and contribute to a more sustainable and inclusive future for the consumer goods sector in the region.
