Healthier Lives/Employee Wellbeing

In 2024, a task force focused on the health and well-being of employees was created, with the participation of 18 leading companies in these areas. This group has established a roadmap that prioritises employees’ mental, physical, and financial health, conducting eight internal sessions to share learnings and best practices, with the participation of experts such as McKinsey Health Institute and Ipsos.
As part of this initiative, the “Se Siente Bien” (It Feels Good) strategy was launched, which has reached over 4.100 employees in 11 countries with the development of collaborative activities led by companies in the working group. We have developed webinars on topics such as financial, mental, and psychological health, and we have had over 1,200 people connected in each one, which confirms the relevance of the topic and the importance of working collaboratively.

Our Approach

CHL promotes mental, physical, and financial health inside and outside the workplace through:

  • Social media campaigns
  • Webinars with experts
  • In-person workshops
  • Employee surveys

Our working group is dedicated to fostering knowledge sharing among different companies. We achieve this through a variety of initiatives, including regular working group sessions, workshops, and other collaborative activities designed to facilitate the exchange of valuable insights and expertise.

Plastic Waste

The Plastic Waste Coalition unites leading companies to tackle plastic waste and pollution in Latin America. We drive progress towards a circular economy for plastics by:

Working group: with the participation of over 30 companies, the group drives action based on our scope: measure, act, and amplify. Among the group companies sharing best practices, we have the participation of experts to strengthen the group capacities and define collaborative actions to amplify our scope in the region.

Accelerating the implementation of the Golden Design Rules (GDR): Supporting GDR adoption with successful pilots, such as those with Andi (Vision 30/30) and Grupo Alen (Reciclar para Ganar), which aims to establish strategic collection routes focused on recovering PP and HDPE, incentivizing household collection by increasing the value of materials through attractive rewards.

Providing GDR Training: Offering a comprehensive GDR training course in partnership with Logyca to equip professionals with the knowledge and skills to design and implement sustainable packaging solutions.

Currently, we have over 30 companies implementing the GDR with an impact in Latin America. We aim to create a more sustainable future for Latin America through collaborative action and knowledge sharing.

Food Waste

The Consumer Goods Forum is driving efforts to reduce food loss and waste throughout the supply chain in Latin America. We tackle this challenge through:

National Initiatives: Partnering with organizations like the UN FAO, BID, the Argentinian Ministry of Agriculture, and GS1 Argentina to strengthen food waste baselines and establish collaborative activities.

Local Initiatives: Collaborating with the Mayor’s Office of Medellin on the Sustainable Food and Zero Waste Initiative, alongside key actors like WWF, Eat Cloud, and Folu, to reduce food waste and reduce hunger in the city.

By combining national and local approaches, we aim to make significant strides in decreasing food waste and creating a more sustainable food system.

Product Data

We seek to adapt global best practices to the needs and realities of Latin America in product data management. To achieve this goal, we focus on four key strategies:

Decarbonisation of transport: seeks to reduce carbon emissions in the transport of products through guides and collaboration between the public and private sectors.

Data harmonisation: seeks to facilitate the exchange of accurate information between retailers and manufacturers through standardisation and the adoption of international standards such as GS1

Verified by GS1: seeks to promote the use of this tool to guarantee the authenticity and traceability of products

Migration to 2D: seeks to promote the adoption of two-dimensional barcodes for more efficient information management.
