Protecting the health and wellbeing of people around the world has been a key strategic priority of The Consumer Goods Forum (CGF) for more than a decade. However, at no time since the CGF was founded have we found ourselves facing such a global health crisis. As such, our member companies are working around-the-clock to find solutions and deliver on their promises as influential pillars within communities around the world.
Our member companies’ will work tirelessly to continue to maintain their production and distribution capabilities on both food and hygiene products, connecting with shoppers and consumers through our extensive retail network and multichannel pharmacies. We will work to ensure our home deliveries, Click & Collect and online operations, as well as our physical stores, remain operational. They are vitally important today as we look to support the health of people.
All CGF coalitions and initiatives will support our collaborative efforts to best mitigate the impact of Covid-19. For example, our E2E Value Chain work is increasing its focus on managing supply chains in this difficult period, while our Collaboration for Healthier Lives Coalition has widened its role to prioritise focus on the global Covid-19 crisis. And, our Global Food Safety Initiative is addressing the challenge of assuring food safety in the context of the pandemic. We are bringing our knowledge and resources together, to support and help mobolise efforts and to share best practices on positive industry actions.
To our members’ customers, we thank you for your support during this difficult period as you work to protect your wellbeing and the wellbeing of your families. And, to our employees, your continued hard work and commitment are a credit to what people can achieve in times of crises when they work together.
