Paris 12th September 2024: The Consumer Goods Forum (CGF) Collaboration of Healthier Lives Coalition of Action (CHL), in partnership  with METRO France and seven leading food manufacturers – Barilla, Bonduelle, Bel, Danone, Groupe Savencia, Labeyrie and Upfield – unveiled an innovative collection of 16 recipes designed to promote healthier, sustainable and accessible dining options. These recipes are simple to prepare, delicious, and include practical tips for reducing food waste.

The initiative offers restaurants a fresh opportunity to present their customers with nutritious, vegetarian meals at an affordable cost, with each portion priced under 3 euros. By focussing on consumer lifestyles, the recipe collection aligns with the growing demand for healthier and environmentally conscious food choices.

“Thanks to our collaborative efforts guided by The Consumer Goods Forum, we have created this recipe book in response to new consumer trends and the recognition of the environmental impact of food, as well as its role on health.” said Ludovic Maitrias, Sustainable Development Manager at METRO France.

Launched on the 30th of August 2024, the recipe book showcases how collaboration across the FMCG and retail industry can foster innovation and support healthier living.

This initiative builds on the 2023 collaboration, which amplified the Mon Restaurant Passe Au Durable initiative, encouraging METRO France’s clients in the restaurants and out-of-home sectors to integrate more sustainable and health-conscious recipes into their menus

Additionally, two multi-brand vegetarian recipes created using the #PositiveFood tool, were introduced and shared with restaurateurs. Click here to view the pilot results.

“This initiative is about making it easier for restaurateurs to offer healthier, more sustainable recipes that are accessible, delicious, and have easy-to-follow food waste tips, said Sharon Bligh, Director of Health and Sustainability at The Consumer Goods Forum. “We are committed to empowering our members to meet growing consumer demand for more health-conscious eating habits, without sacrificing quality or taste.”
