On December 11th, Didier Bergeret, Social Sustainability Director at the CGF, spoke at an event organised by the Institute for Human Rights and Business (IHRB) and Entreprises pour les droits de l’homme (EDH) entitled “Comprendre et prévenir le travail forcé : un enjeu majeur pour toutes les entreprises” (Understand and prevent forced labour: a major challenge for businesses), attended by french businesses.
Didier spoke on the first roundtable discussion of the afternoon, entitled “L’enjeu du travail forcé : context, acteurs institutionels et initiatives collectives” (The challenge of forced labour: the context, key stakeholders and collective initiatives), alongside representatives from the International Labour Organization (ILO), La Commission nationale consultative des droits de l’homme (CNCDH) and IHRB.
The event provided the opportunity for French companies to better understand the complexities of the forced labour issue and to come together to discuss strategies for tackling the issue.
Didier said, “It was extremely worthwhile to connect with key players in the space in France and to have the opportunity to present the work of the CGF in a French context. We look forward to fruitful collaborations with EDH, IHRB and CNCDH in the near future.”
