Mobilising Members Around Employee Health & Wellbeing 

 

Healthy, happy employees are the foundation for every responsible business. As part of The Consumer Goods Forum’s leadership strategy, the physical and mental health of over 10 million employees of CGF members are at the core of the Collaboration for Healthier Lives Coalition of Action’s new agenda. Establishing employee health and wellbeing programmes to support employee health is currently being championed as an Acceleration Area at the CGF.

The Consumer Goods Forum (CGF) Collaboration of Healthier Lives Coalition of Action (CHL) co-created the Seven Principles of Employee Wellbeing with the McKinsey Health Institute to establish an evidence-based wellbeing framework and set of principles; fostering employee health and wellbeing. 

        

Workforce Nutrition

The Workforce Nutrition Alliance (WNA), co-founded by The Consumer Goods Forum (CGF) and the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN), achieved several milestones since its inception in 2019. We are proud our nutrition programmes have reached 6 million workers through our advocacy and technical support, and we are working towards 10 million by 2030. Read our latest progress review.

Worsened by COVID-19, there has been a 25% increase in the prevalence of anxiety and depression worldwide. Poor mental health costs the world economy approximately $2·5 trillion per year.

71% of employees now feel employers should play a greater role in their wellbeing and happiness.
