Kjøpmannshuset is committed to the health and wellbeing of all of its employees, ensuring the company take cares of its people.
The goal of the employee wellbeing programme called ‘Kvikk i Butikk’ is to encourage increased energy and vitality. This is a low-threshold initiative where everyone can participate, based entirely on their own abilities.
Kvikk i Butikk is not designed to create national champions but to offer a programme that promotes higher energy levels, greater job satisfaction, and reduced absenteeism. Good health is, quite literally, good business – both for individual employees and for the entire organisation.
Kvikk i Butikk is a social group hosted on an online application”VI ER.” The concept focuses not only on physical exercise but also includes competitions, mental health seminars, and stretch breaks to promote proper neck and back techniques.
All employees can join the group, whether they work in a store or at the Kjøpmannshuset office. To raise awareness about the group and its initiatives, the company has recruited ambassadors who will collaborate to gather feedback on areas already implemented and on initiatives which could be focused on in more depth or are future opportunities.
Examples of initiatives undertaken include:
Kjøpmannshuset maintains two-way communication with all of the programme participants through its app VI ER. The users can share their insights and experiences with each other, creating a community which continues to inspire reach other to participate.
To date, the company has learned the importance of setting up an annual activity plan and offering varied content that resonates with many.
Kjøpmannshuset is in the early stages of utilising this initiative, named Kvikk i Butikk, to support its business strategy. As part of the company’s strategy, there is a focus on being a valued employer. One of the key measures is having a programme that naturally emphasises employee health and wellbeing.
Increased energy leads to greater job satisfaction, stronger team cohesion, and reduced absenteeism. Lower absenteeism is important for the profitability of the business.
