CGF Environmental Sustainability Director, Ignacio Gavilan, recently participated in IDH’s Landscapes Forum on 7th and 8th February in Amsterdam. The meeting focused on innovations and good practices to optimise commodity production while conserving forests and ensuring social inclusion – so called “Production, Protection and Inclusion” (PPI) arrangements. This special, invitation-only event brought together a variety of pertinent stakeholders including those from government, business and civil society.
Of particular interest for the CGF was the forum’s focus on how businesses operationalise their deforestation commitments. Ignacio shared key insights on the implementation of the CGF Zero Net Deforestation Resolution, including the sustainable sourcing guidelines on palm oil, soy and paper & pulp, while learning from others who also shared their best practices.
We at the CGF welcome opportunities such as the IDH Landscapes Forum to engage with important stakeholders and ensure we are the forefront of the global environmental sustainability discussion. Collaboration is key to tackle today’s largest sustainability challenges.
